Texas Tech Team in CG, Working On Documentary
Two gentlemen outside the door of the Council Grove Republican caught our eyes Tuesday morning. They were busy studying our newspaper rack and taking photos/videos for minutes! There was a team of six from Texas Tech who were in town working on The Great Plains Project. One of them, Kenneth Andrews, had just a few minutes to talk with us before he had to rejoin the others.
Council Grove City Council Approves Creation Of Convention and Visitor Bureau
The Council Grove City Council met Tuesday for its first meeting of the month. All councilors were present except Sean Honer, who is assisting with storm relief in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
Bryan Hatcher Wins Pigskin Pick ‘Em
Bryan Hatcher, of Council Grove, won Week 4’s Pigskin Pick ‘Em Contest in a drawing with Blanche Martin. Both Hatcher and Martin correctly guessed 13 out of 17 of the NFL’s Week 4 contests. They both entered a tie breaking score of 45 in the Dallas Cowboys vs NY Giants Game, which the Cowboys won 2015, making the correct tiebreaking score 35. After a tie in the tiebreaker, the Council Grove Republican declared the winner by a drawing.
