Travis Schweger, Director of the Morris County Recycling Center, is moving away from the word “recycling” and using “waste reduction” instead. The new phrase for our Recycling Center is “Waste Reduction Starts Here – Morris County Recycling Center!
The Greater Morris County Development Corporation (GMDC), in association with the Network Kansas E-Community Partnership, held its 3rd Annual Morris County Youth Entrepreneurship Competition on March 7, 2023, in White City as part of the 2022-2023 Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (YEC) series. All Morris County students in grades 6-12 were invited, and encouraged, to participate. The goal of the competition was to expose Kansas middle school and high school students to entrepreneurship and business plans that could suit the needs of the communities they live in and beyond.
The Council Grove High School Boys brought home the state title in the 2-A powerlifting this weekend.

The Community Arts Council of Council Grove, in partnership with Dee Gieswein of Gieswein Insurance, is bringing a mural to Council Grove. The mural committee is currently seeking a design and lead artist for the upcoming project.
