Area rivals - Braves and Bulldogs open baseball season

The Council Grove High School Braves opened their season with an impressive doubleheader sweep over area rival Chase County on Thursday at Swope Park, winning Game 1 by shutout, 8-0, and pulling away late in Game 2 for a 12-2 victory. Game 1: Braves 8, Bulldogs 0 Council Grove struck early with an RBI single from AJ Rocha in the top of the first, then steadily extended the lead behind a strong offensive outing and solid defense.
