The Morris County Commissioner meeting was called to order on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 9 a.m. Commissioners Wayne Kohler, Jim Barber and David Fox were present. Bill Kassebaum, County Counselor, and Chelsey Schmidt, County Clerk, were present.
At just 16 years old, Council Grove’s Marcello Balboa Jr. is proving that drive, discipline, and a curious mind can lead to extraordinary achievements. The son of Marcello and Kristina Balboa, Marcello graduated early from Manhattan Virtual Academy in January 2025 with a weighted GPA of 4.39. This spring, he is also earning his Associate of Science degree in Accounting from Butler Community College—accomplishing both milestones before his 17th birthday in September.
On Monday, April 21, the 5th grade class at Prairie Heights Elementary School in Alta Vista planted a tree to celebrate Arbor Day.
