Commissioners approve equipment tracking software
The Morris County Commissioner meeting was called to order on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 9 a.m. Commissioners Wayne Kohler, Jim Barber and David Fox were present. Bill Kassebaum, County Counselor, and Chelsey Schmidt, County Clerk, were present.
CGHS seniors recognized at awards ceremony
Council Grove Junior/Senior High School honored its graduating seniors during a school-wide awards assembly on Wednesday morning, recognizing students for academic, leadership, and extracurricular achievements. The ceremony was held in advance of commencement exercises scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m.

2025 Madonna Trot & Costume Contest to be held June 21
In celebration of Council Grove’s bicentennial year and its historical significance and to honor the contributions of America’s veterans, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) are presenting a community event on Saturday, June 21, during Washunga Days. The 2025 Madonna Trot & Costume Contest invites area youth and families to participate in a 2-mile walk along the Flint Hills Trail while raising funds for Together With Veterans and Morris County initiatives.
