The Morris County Commissioner meeting was called to order on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. Commissioners Wayne Kohler, Jim Barber and David Fox were present. Chelsey Schmidt, County Clerk, and Bill Kassebaum, County Counselor, were present.
Morris County Public Transportation is planning to build a new Transit Vehicle Storage Facility in Council Grove, with potential funding support from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The proposed facility would be located at 501 West Main Street, adjacent to the Morris County Courthouse.
The Council Grove Braves golf team claimed first place at the Southern Lyon County Golf Meet on Thursday. Drew Buchman led the way, earning medalist honors with a score of 68. Brycen Palmquist followed with a third-place finish, shooting an 81. Additional team contributors included Trace Adams, who placed 12th with a 91; Dax Myers, 16th with a 91; Finn Gant, 25th with a 95; and Landon Dody, 35th with a 106.
On April 2, Kansas leaders responded to President Trump’s announcement of new global tariffs, including a 10% tariff on all imports and additional reciprocal tariffs.
