In recent days several websites are reporting that Kansas ranks 22nd in the nation in firearm ownership with 42.3% of households owning a firearm.
The Council Grove Republican’s annual football contest Pigskin ‘Pick-Em’ begins today and can be found on page 4. It will continue for 18 weeks through December 27, 2023. Contestants’ deadline to enter will be 5 pm, Thursday, 8 days after the newspaper notice. The weekly winner will be awarded a $25 gift certificate to be used at one of the 18 sponsoring businesses. The grand prize winner will receive an additional $50 in certificates for picking the most winners in the season.
