The Tiptoz Dance Company Shine Team recently competed in regional competitions at Wichita and Kansas City. The team consists of dancers from Council Grove, Wamego and Marion and is coached by Anneliese Troxell, Emma Ayre, Keeley Honas, Grace Harms, Makenzie Ochoa and Christine Carter. The studio received a special award for Artistry, as well as several choreography awards.
The Council Grove High School Braves Golf team hit the links on Tuesday for their first meet of the season at Herington.
The April 10, Kaw Mission Council will feature Dr. Leo Oliva discussing “Military Posts and the Santa Fe Trail.”
The Council Grove City Council approved a Police and Fire Committee recommendation for a change in the Council Grove Fire Department Constitution and By-Laws on Tuesday. The change includes the addition of two lieutenants and five trustees to the fire board. The council also approved the committee’s recommendation to appoint John Scarce and Chris Brown to the lieutenant positions. Assistant Chief Brian Brown told the council that the new lieutenant positions would help the chain of command in the event of large scale fires or multiple fire call outs and assist in the proper deployment of fire department resources.
The CG Players will perform their spring play, Peter and the Starcatcher, this weekend at the Council Grove High School auditorium. Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
