As with all election night numbers, the votes are unofficial counts. It is known there are provisional ballots and possibly a few mail ballots. Normally, neither at the local level affects a vote tally enough to make a difference in the outcome. However, the vote span in the Council Grove mayoral race is seven votes, effective late Wednesday.
The Council Grove Republican reached out to four area veterans, one from the air force, army, navy and marines. We asked them when and where they served and what role they had, as well as what the transition back into civilian life was like for them. Below is a snapshot of four of the many area veterans who served our country and helped preserve our freedom. We thank them and all veterans for the time they invested in protecting our country.
