The Council Grove Trail Trolley has been part of the town’s landscape for about five years. The story of how it arrived is interesting. Mark Brooks was looking at a Facebook marketplace site for RVs for himself when the trolley popped up in the Wichita area. There was already interest from another perspective buyer so quick work was made by Brooks, Tim Tyner and Gary Bolton to seal the deal and relocate the trolley to Council Grove. Then it took months to paint the vehicle and prepare it for use as Council Grove’s Trail Trolley. Its operations are now managed by the Council Grove Area Trade & Tourism Association.

The Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the person or people responsible for the stealing of 15 black Angus and Wagyu calves, a red calf and a black Angus cow from Dan Oeding’s operation five miles southeast of Wamego around Oct. 10.

The Council Grove High School Braves had a chance on the final play of the game to set up a game-winning 2-point conversion attempt, but a pass sailed over the outstretched arms of a receiver. For the second time this season, the Braves and the Indians of Osage City played a close, physical, and eventful game. This time, the Regional Championship was at stake.
