The businesswomen of Council Grove are amazing. In a recent Zoom meeting that a local businessman attended, he was surprised by the ratio of women business owners/ managers compared to the men in attendance. The women outnumbered the men by 4 to 1.
The Bowers Center, 325 W Main, will be hosting an Open House 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, October 8. The Bowers Center committee is asking the public’s help for “reimagining” the Bowers Center, as the original plan envisioned approximately 25 years ago for a community arts center is no longer viable with all the new venues in Council Grove. The purpose of the Open House is to let the public view the upper level (main level) of the Bowers Center and see the building’s potential and offer suggestions for future plans, whether it be converted to residential, retail or some other purpose.
Council Grove and Chase County met Tuesday night in a well-attended high school volleyball matchup that also celebrated “Pink-Out,” which is a cancer awareness and fundraiser for a 3D Mammography machine for Morris County Hospital. In match 1 of the varsity game, Council Grove won 25-13, 25-14; Match 2 Council Grove won 25-14, 25-19.
