White Memorial Camp Offering No Cost Camp Experience To Area Youth

White Memorial Camp, 1271 S 1050 Rd., Council Grove is offering a no cost camp experience July 26-28, 2024, for local youth who have completed grades 3-5 (entering grades 4-6 in August) in Morris and Wabaunsee Counties and will be in local elementary schools at White City, Council Grove or Prairie Heights and all area home-schooled students. The camp opportunity is made possible by the generous donations from local businesses and foundations.

At the Tuesday, May 7 meeting of the Morris County Commission, Jerry Furman, System Manager for Rural Water District No. 2, visited with the commissioners regarding extending the boundary lines of the water district to encompass Sections 16 and 21 in Township 17S, Range 8E. The Board of Directors would The commissioners approved the bid from Air Capital for 4,100 tons of chips at $14.50/ton, the additional hauling fee for 1,700 tons to White City at $10.00/ton, the additional hauling fee for 1,400 tons to Delavan at $7.00/ton and the additional hauling fee for 1,000 tons to Burdick at $6.00/ton; for a grand total of $92,250.00.
