Mike Lowry Gives A Glimpse Of 26 Years at Council Grove Lake
Mike Lowry, Lake Manager of Council Grove Lake from spring 2015 until fall of 2018, was born and raised in the Flint Hills. He was born in Emporia and was raised south of Allen. He graduated from Northern Heights High School. Lowry was surprised that he ended up so close to where he grew up. After going to Emporia State, Lowry took some time and worked. Then he applied for and was accepted to work for the Forestry Service during the summer. He was based out of Laramie and also attended the University of Wyoming. When he graduated, he started looking for other options, in part, due to the cost of living in the Rocky Mountains.
