When the summer heat became sweltering and unbearable about three weeks ago, Chassity Rathke, Council Grove Senior Center manager, was at a crossroads. Some in her midst were worried about the senior drivers delivering meals in the heat of the day and suggested that the Senior Center switch to delivering breakfast at 9 a.m. until the weather cooled. Rathke really did not want to do that, believing that that a noon time meal was better for the homebound and those dining in.
