CBC Declares Blood Emergency

Community Blood Center (CBC) is declaring a blood emergency due to a significant drop in blood donations. In the past several weeks, donations have been hundreds short of what is needed to meet hospital demand, placing a strain on the region’s blood supply during the critical summer months.

SELECTED TO JOIN NATIONAL VOLLEYBALL TEAM -- Lilliana Blackledge, Council Grove High School junior, has been selected to play on the national level with Club North Volleyball out of Kansas City, Mo., for the 202425 season, as an attacker. The team has traveled to Orlando, FL Philadelphia, PA and Minneapolis, MN., for qualifiers. They also have qualifiers in Kansas City and Lawrence. Lilliana is a member of the Lady Braves volleyball team and has earned All-Flint Hills League Honors. She is the daughter of Chris and Jamie Blackledge, Council Grove.
