KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A large swath of the U.S. braced for a dangerous mix of sub-zero temperatures, howling winds and blizzard conditions expected to disrupt plans for millions of holiday travelers.
Tuesday night, the Council Grove City Council entered into an agreement with Kaw Valley Engineering of Junction City to replat the City Lake Park. Discussion of this matter has been covered in previous council articles in the Council Grove Republican. The cost approved is $39,940 although there may be additional hourly fees or services that are not covered in the base amount. A drone will be used for a few days to acquire data which will be applied to existing plat that the company documented a few years ago. Then the process to generate property lines and revisit the lake for monumentation will take 2-3 weeks.
Chris Adams of Adams 66 Service, 15 W. Main St., Council Grove, was extremely busy Tuesday. Adams offered to donate 20 cents per gallon he pumped to the local nonprofit group Friends Helping Friends.
Tenacity: the quality or fact of being very determined. This is how you would describe what the Boys Council Grove Varsity basketball team looked like on Tuesday evening in the Braves Gym as Coach Bruce Hula was delivered a thrilling 52 51 win over Hillsboro, in overtime, for an early Christmas present from his team. Hula, whose team now sits at 3 - 3 on the season, said after the game, “Our energy and effort were good the entire evening and it was a fun high school basketball game to watch and be a part of! We were out of sync on both ends of the floor from the get-go, but credit the kids for sticking to it and making plays.”
