Council Grove Christian Church, 106 E Main, launches its AWANA program for kids with registration at 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 14. It is a come and go event.
The annual First Day of School Salad Luncheon for all retired USD 417 staff is 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, at St. Rose Catholic Church Hall, 300 Spencer, Council Grove.
In an effort to meet as many instructors as possible, Dave Foster, Kansas Hunter Education Coordinator, will be holding “pre-season” meetings throughout the state. These meetings will qualify instructors for “recertification” credit. You can attend any of the in-person meetings and no pre-registration is required. All meetings will begin at 6 p.m. and conclude by 7:30 p.m.
USD 417 will hold a regular Board of Education meeting at the District Office, 17 Wood St., at 6 p.m., on Monday, August 12.
