USD 417 is facing a critical shortage of school bus drivers, a situation that is projected to worsen in the next year. As an integral part of the district’s educational team, bus drivers play a crucial role in ensuring students’ safe transportation to and from school and various activities.
Morris County’s own Becky Shearer, Director of Food Service for USD 417 and Superintendent Tyson Eslinger, recently showcased her food service department’s innovative Farm to Table program to the State Board of Education in Topeka. This initiative is transforming how we approach school nutrition while supporting our local economy.
It was a day to celebrate as the Braves Cross Country runners crossed the finish line at Osage City on Thursday. Led by the junior high squad, that saw every member PR, the Braves recorded 7 PRs and a Season Best time on the day. Every member of the junior high squad recorded a PR, led by Brayden Jarvis who finished just out of the medals in 12th with a 13:13. Just behind him in 14th was Nick Most at 13:32. Harry Mills and Ronnie Mayer also put up PR numbers on the day for the junior high boys, while Trinity Banks broke her PR by almost 2 full minutes in the girls race.
