Jadyn Picolet turned in his best time of the season at the Flint Hills League meet to capture 2nd place. He posted a 17:44, shaving 7 seconds off of his previous season best from a month ago. Picolet said it felt good, and he looked good holding off a trio of West Franklin runners while bringing home the silver. The race started quickly, as the runners got out early to get position before the course bottlenecked 50 meters from the starting line. It stayed bunched up at the front for most of the first mile before it started to seperate. By the mid point of the race Hunter Bailey, league champ, was pulling away from the pack but Picolet still had his work cut out for him. The Trio of Falcons, a couple of Chase County runners and a pair from Osage City were all hunting places 2 through 5. Picolet worked in the middle of the race to grab 2nd place and he held off the threats with a strong 3rd mile and push to the finish line.
The Morris County Commissioner meeting was called to order on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. Commissioners David Fox and Wayne Kohler were present. Bill Kassebaum, County Counselor, and Chelsey Schmidt, County Clerk, were present.
