Loup Charlier was the guest speaker at the Council Grove Rotary Club on Wednesday. Charlier’s prestigious “pin” jacket that he wore when he first arrived in Council Grove had many more pins on it than the last time he visited Rotary.
The Council Grove Republican has earned 13 Kansas Press Association 2023 Awards of Excellence designations. The awards are for submissions from the 2022 calendar year. KPA announced that with 2711 entries, the number of entries has returned to the number seen in 2019 and before the COVID pandemic.

It will be a classic, old-time Barn Dance in the loft of the 1915 barn at Pioneer Bluffs, considered by some to be the best dance floor in the Flint Hills.
