ESU Names Dr. Sara Schwerdtfeger Dean Of The Teachers College

The new dean of The Teachers College is an Emporia State alum with 25 years of experience as an educator and one who has become familiar with the job over the past year. Brent Thomas, provost and vice president for academic affairs, announced Dr. Sara Schwerdtfeger as the permanent dean following a nationwide search. Schwerdtfeger is the daughtger-in-law of Rick and Debi Schwerdtfeger of Council Grove. She has served as interim dean of The Teachers College since May 2023.

Hailey Hower Selected To Dean’s Fellows

Seventeen students at The University of Kansas School of Law, including Hailey Hower of Council Grove, have been chosen to be Dean’s Fellows for the 2024-2025 academic year. Hower is the daughter of John and Julie Hower of Council Grove.

Awards Presented During Annual Morris County 4-H Achievement Banquet

The Morris County 4-H Council hosted its annual achievement banquet on Saturday, November 3, at the fairgrounds community building. 4-H members, families and guests celebrated the yearlong achievements for local, state and national activities.
