USD 417 School Board Talks Technology Conversion And Updates
The USD 417 Board of Education held its regular meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the District Office located at 17 Wood St., Council Grove, Kansas. Led by Board President Terry Powell and Superintendent Tyson Eslinger, the meeting addressed key district needs, financial decisions, and technology upgrades to improve communication and efficiency across the district. Discussions included facility repairs, budget planning, and recent improvements to district communication tools. Kelsey Hartman was absent from the meeting. Patty Talley was absent due to her attendance at a Prairie Heights Elementary School Veterans Day event.
History-Making Braves Are Regional Champions, On To Final 8
The Council Grove Braves achieved a milestone victory on Friday, defeating #5-ranked Silver Lake 30-8 to claim the program’s first-ever regional championship. This win places the Braves in the Kansas 2A Final 8 for the first time since 1974, when only 8 teams qualified for the playoffs.
