USD 417 BOE advances bond election; 1918 Building to be demolished

The USD 417 Board of Education held a special meeting Monday night, November 24, to finalize plans for a March 2026 bond election and to adopt the formal resolution and public notice required by the Kansas State Board of Education. The meeting included updated cost estimates, mill levy projections, and clarification that the district intends to demolish the entire 1918 high school building, leaving a grass field in its place.

CG Bravettes and Cheer teams earn State Titles

The Council Grove High School cheer and dance programs closed out an extraordinary weekend at the KSHSAA State Spirit Championships, bringing home both a state championship and a state runner-up title. Under the leadership of Coach Keeley Reddick, the Bravettes captured the 3A State Dance Championship, while the Council Grove Cheer team earned 3A State Cheer Runner-Up, marking the program’s highest finish in school history.
