The Council Grove High School Braves opened their 2025 basketball season Tuesday night with a 71–34 road loss to the Royal Valley Panthers.
Nearly three decades have passed since twins Linda Cosgrove and Rhonda Bryant were invited to paint a Santa Fe Trail mural on a hallway wall at Council Grove Elementary School (CGES). Today, the 22-foot-long historical mural remains a beloved feature of the building, despite coming close to being painted over on two separate occasions.
First Baptist Church, located at 501 Country Ln., has scheduled several Christmas events in December and invites the community to take part.
