Council Approves Funds Stormwater Runoff Project

The Council Grove City Council approved $10,000 in spending to improve stormwater runoff drainage in the city at its Tuesday meeting. BG Consultants will perform the work beginning after the first of next year. While spending not to exceed $10,000 was approved, City Administrator Nick Jones said that the project should come in around $2,000 to $2,500 less than approved. BG Consultants is also working on water and sewer plans for the city. At the council’s November 17 meeting, council members were in agreement that shovel-ready projects needed to be planned for due to the Biden administration’s recently passed infrastructure bill, with stormwater, sewer and water projects noted as areas needing to be addressed.

A Day In The Life Of A 4-H Member: School Year Edition

The county fair may be during the summer, but 4-H members work on projects all year long, especially their livestock. The long, routine days of summer work are interrupted when school starts again. Even though much of a member’s time is spent at school now, the same chores have to be completed at home as new projects begin. New cattle projects start in the fall and winter, and members will get their small animals in the spring.
