The Dwight City Council met for a regular meeting at the Library on June 25, 2023. Mayor Pam Goss opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Other council members present were Peter Marquardt, Brenda Switzer, Susan Mulryan, and Absent Andrew Beamer.
At the July 12 White City Council meeting there was discussion about people smoking at the city park and ball fields. The council approved a ban on all tobacco products in the city park and ballpark area.
Area students making the spring 2023 Dean’s honor roll at Wichita State University are Dani Dragone and Calla Unruh, Council Grove; Colton West, Cottonwood Falls; Emma Bigham, Herington; and Emil Vinduska, Lost Springs.
At Tuesday’s Morris County Commission meeting, the commissioners approved the 2024 health insurance renewal with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas in the amount of $1,017,084.00, which is a 0.58% decrease from last year’s premium.
