As work progresses for the second phase of the K-177 reconstruction, the east K-4 junction will close beginning Monday morning, August 14, for resurfacing. This is good news for those hoping to use the intersection to attend Alta Vista’s Old Settler Days Friday, August 11 and Saturday, August 12.

A few weeks ago, I received a news email about various superfund sites across the nation. Curiously, I looked at Kansas and saw a site that appeared to be in Morris County and was. It was the Herington Regional Airport, which comprises approximately 3.5 square miles and is owned by the Herington and located near Delavan.
