The Morris County Historical Society and the Kaw Mission are combining to provide a Kansas Day event for local 7th graders and the public. The event is scheduled for Friday, January 26 and will involve visiting the Seth Hays Home, 203 Wood St. Hays is considered the Founder of Council Grove.

The Morris County Conservation District has presented the 2023 Water Quality Conservation Award to Lawrence Strouts.
Brenah Cannon won the 170-pound bracket and Savanah Johnson was third at 155 to lead the Council Grove High School girls to an 10th place finish at the Council Grove Invitational Girls Tournament at Braves Gym on Saturday.
