CGHS JV Drop Games In Tourney

The Council Grove High School boys junior varsity basketball squad traveled to Riley County Saturday for a 2-game slate versus Wamego and Riley County. The Braves dropped the 1st game to Wamego 63-19. The boys struggled to score, being limited to only 5 field goals in the contest. Turnovers by the Braves and second chance opportunities for Wamego pushed it out of hand by halftime. Maxton Villalobos led the Braves with 6 points in the contest, followed by Gunner Gleason 4 pts, Dillon Ellinson 3 pts, Grady Kepley 3 pts, Dody Landon 2 pts and Jacob McIver 1 pt.

House Bill Fixes Glitch

TOPEKA (Tim Carpenter/Kansas Reflector) -- Wallace County Treasurer Christine Smith said it didn’t take long to grasp the flaw in a bipartisan bill adopted in 2022 allowing 15- and 16-year-olds to use a restricted license for driving to and from religious activities.

Veterans Coffee

The monthly Veterans Coffee will be held beginning at 9:00 on Wednesday morning, February 7, at the Council Grove Recreation and Events Center. All veterans, and their family members, are welcome to attend.
