Student of the Week
This week’s student of the week at Council Grove Elementary School is Lauren Sharp. She is seven-years-old and a student in McKenzie Rowlett’s second grade class. Lauren says she likes to play Minecraft with her brother, jump on the trampoline, play with her three cats and put on make up. Her extracurricular activities include dance and baseball. Her favorite vacation was to South Padre Island.
100,000 Kansans May Be Removed In Redetermination
(Kansas Reflector) Kansas is close to determining who will remain eligible for Medicaid after months of glitches and ongoing confusion over how to reapply. Current estimates suggest thousands of Kansans covered during the pandemic will be removed from the system, and health care advocates warn qualified applicants will be kicked off because of processing problems that are out of their hands.
Braves Boys Win Circle Invitational Wrestling Tourney
Council Grove High School had two bracket champions, eight other top-five placers, and 200.5 total points to run away with the boys’ team title at the Circle Invitational Wrestling Tournament Friday and Saturday in Towanda.
Update On ‘23 Council Grove Feline Trap Neuter Release Project
Last year the Council Grove Republican reported on an anonymous volunteer group in town who were treating and altering cats through a TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) project. Through the program in 2023, 156 cats were altered and treated.
