LEADS BRAVES TO VICTORY -- Council Grove High School Braves senior Ahmed Mansaray goes up for two of his 23 points Thursday night
Dave May was the guest speaker at Wednesday’s Council Grove Rotary Club meeting. May describes himself as a ventriloquist, magician, actor, director and writer. Many community members remember May as one who entertains young and old alike at events and venues. He is leading the launch of the Council Grove Community Theatre, a volunteer theater group. May says the group falls under the auspice of the Community Arts Council of Council Grove.
Driving while impaired can be a deadly decision. That’s why the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) and law enforcement agencies across the state want to remind all drivers to “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” this holiday season. Enforcement on this law occurs all year long, but officers will be especially focused from Dec. 16 to Jan. 1 to remove impaired drivers from Kansas roads.
The Council Grove Freshmen boys basketball team traveled to Chase County on Tuesday evening and were able to get in a shortened, 2-quarter, game due to illness by both teams. The Braves jumped out to a 12 - 11 lead after the first quarter and then put the game away in the second quarter with a 15 - 7 run to win 27 - 18.
The Morris County Hospital Auxiliary hosted the K.C. Chiefs-sponsored CBC Blood Drive on Monday, December 12. Forty-seven (47) volunteer donors participated in the MCH Auxiliary Blood Drive, which enabled the staff of the Community Blood Center of Kansas City to collect 41 units of blood.
