The Council Grove Braves golf team claimed first place at the Southeast of Saline Invitational with a team score of 332, outpacing the competition in a strong field of eleven teams.
The May 4, 2025, Kaw Mission Council Lecture Series “Westward Expansion”, will take place at 2 p.m. at The Dealership Building located at 318 West Main in Council Grove. The presentation will be: “The Buffalo People of Kansas Western Expansion prairies and buffalo.” Presented by Gordon Yellowman, the lecture provides an overview of how traditional knowledge and science knowledge parallel in physical sciences and native spiritual concepts of TEK, Traditional Ecological knowledge systems, relationships with prairies and buffalo and impacts of Western Expansion.
Helping our youth and communities understand food insecurity and the barriers that exist in accessing healthy food is the motivation behind the $28,965 Hunger Free Kansas Mini-Grant recently awarded to the K-State Research & Extension Flint Hills District.
The Council Grove Senior Center celebrated its 50 years of serving the community with a special Pizza Hut lunch and program on Monday. The event paid special recognition to current and former volunteers. A large crowd was in attendance for the affair.
The Voices of the Wind People pageant committee has scheduled its first organizational meeting for the 2025 production of the outdoor drama in the Riverwalk Amphitheater. The show dates are September 19 and 20, 8 p.m.
