City Council extends fireworks usage deadline to 12 a.m., Sunday, employees receive 2% raise

With Mayor Debi Schwerdtfeger and Councilman Nathan Adams absent, Council President Mark Berner presided over the July 1, 2025, regular meeting of the Council Grove City Council. The meeting opened with a prayer and pledge of allegiance, followed by approval of the consent agenda, which included the minutes from the previous meeting, appropriations totaling $185,216.39, and a City Lake cabin transfer for Lot B-25 (116 Waterway Loop) from Pamyla Sue Byerley and Geraldine Raine to Justin D. and Melissa K. McClarity of Wichita.

WMC offering free camp to 55 local 4th-6th grade students

White Memorial Camp is now enrolling up to 55 local kids for Local Kids 2 Camp (LK2C), a three-day, two-night summer adventure filled with laughter, new friendships, and meaningful faith experiences. The session runs July 18–20 and welcomes students entering 4th through 6th grade this fall from USD 417, White City schools, and the local homeschool community.
