When Caleb Chaney stepped into the role of Morris County’s noxious weed director last July, he inherited more than a job—he inherited a challenge. With overgrown weeds, staffing shortages, and a list of certifications to tackle, Chaney quickly learned the complexities of managing invasive species in a large, agriculturally driven county.
Yoder artwork selected for prestigious Prairie Art Exhibit
Mary Byram Yoder, an area artist, has received the exciting news that her piece, Upland Sandpiper, has been selected for the Prairie Art Exhibit & Auction in conjunction with the Symphony in the Flint Hills. Known for its highly competitive selection process, the exhibit features works that celebrate the prairie landscape and heritage.
Pancake feed, flea market raises funds for Dwight Library
The Pancake Feed and Spring Flea Market held on April 5 at The Event Center in Dwight was a success, raising $1,488 to benefit the Dwight Public Library at 616 Main Street. Organized by Jon and Amy Naaf, the fundraiser was supported by a Thrivent Action Team grant to help cover food expenses, item donations from library staff, and the availability of a local indoor venue.
