TOPEKA (WIBW) - The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) reminds motorists to use more caution and patience when traveling around farm trucks, tractors, combines, and other implements as wheat harvest gets underway.
The 2025 Washunga Days Parade brought excitement, color, and creativity to Council Grove as participants lined up to showcase their community spirit. With floats, vintage vehicles, horses, and more, the parade offered a festive highlight to the weekend’s celebrations. The parade’s winners were selected from a variety of categories and reflect the diversity and talent of the area.
The Council Grove Marina is hosting its seventh event of the season— Lizardskin Karaoke with Rob and Carmen—on Friday, June 28, from 6 to 10 p.m. on the popular Parrot Patio.
When Suzan Brydon walked into Corks and Coffees at the Press Room in Council Grove earlier this month, she was simply in search of a refreshment and a brief break from the road. What she left behind was far more than a coffee order— she shared an inspiring story of endurance, passion, and purpose that caught the attention of CVB Executive Director Zoey Wadick, who promptly alerted the Council Grove Republican.
