The Kansas State Board of Education has adopted a new scoring system for statewide student assessments, replacing the decade-old cut scores that officials said were no longer aligned with what educators were seeing in classrooms. The change adjusts score ranges from the previous 220–380 scale to a new 400–700 scale, with cutoffs redefining the categories of limited, basic, proficient, and advanced.
