On Oct. 28, during a brief ceremony, MFA Oil Company’s Emporia Plant Manager Johnnie Howe and Customer Service Rep. Jeanette Kosec presented a grant check from the MFA Oil Foundation for $1,000 to the North Lyon County Museum Board of Trustees.
Joel Unruh, Durham, was southbound on South 1300 Road on October 10, when a deer entered the roadway from the east ditch. He was unable to avoid striking the deer, running off the roadway into the west ditch. Damage was caused to the front end of his Dodge Dakota. Deryk Unruh, 17, and Alex Unruh, 15, were passengers. All were wearing their seatbelts.
