At its Wednesday business meeting, the Council Grove Rotary voted to donate $2000 to five local charities, giving each charity $400. The five organizations are Flint Hills Rebuilder, SOS, CASA, Care and Share’s Angel Tree, and the local Ministerial Alliance.
Have you ever dreamed of being an actress? Now you have a chance right here in Council Grove! Auditions for “Steel Magnolias” by Robert Harling will be held Sunday, November 6 at 2 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday November 7 and 8 at 7 p.m., at the Trail Days Arts and History Center at 807 W. Main Street. You do not need to attend all auditions. Choose the day that is most convenient for you. You may be asked to return if needed.
Lillian Zeigler and Jessica Filkin broke several Council Grove High School volleyball records during the recently completed season. CG finished 26-13, placed second in the sub-state tournament, and were runners-up for the Flint Hills League title.
The 2nd Annual Halloween Costume Contest was held Saturday following the parade. Winners each received a $50 Council Grove Chamber Gift Certificate. Top three places in each category were awarded.
