Firefighter Dies After Being Shocked By Power Lines

ROLLA (AP) — A southwest Kansas firefighter died after being shocked by power lines while working at the scene of a crash, authorities said Monday. The Morton County/Rolla firefighter and a sheriff’s deputy were the first to arrive at the crash site Sunday afternoon just south of Rolla. The firefighter was shocked by damaged power lines while searching for victims from the crash, according to emergency management.

For some time I have noticed that people are increasingly stating that events are scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.—when in fact the events begin or end at noon. The sun reaches its highest point (its meridian) at noon.
