RETURNING LETTERWINNERS -- The Lady Braves will begin their season this Saturday with a tournament at Lyndon. Coach Amy Finch says she expects great things from the team this season with 31 girls out for the team. Lady Braves Volleyball Begin Season Aug. 28

The Council Grove High School Lady Braves Volleyball team will begin their season on Saturday with a tournament at Lyndon and Coach Amy Finch says the team is expecting to do great things this season.

“Military” Weekend To Feature History Of 8th KS Regiment

The 8th Kansas Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the Civil War included a number of soldiers recruited from Council Grove and the Neosho River Valley. There will be an encampment of re-enactors from that Regiment on August 28, in Council Oak Park, as part of the commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Santa Fe Trail. The “Military on the Santa Fe Trail” events on August 27- 28 have been planned by the Council Grove Santa Fe Trail 200 Committee. All events have free admission.
