Phil Taunton of the Council Grove Marina helped me catch up with Samantha Patterson Arredondo. She happened to be present and helped with the drawing when Taunton was selecting the first winner of his weekly family fishing contest. Taunton contacted me because he thought her “Summer of No” was fascinating. What exactly was the “Summer of No,” I wondered. Taunton had mentioned that Arredondo was in the area and was unplugging her family from technology.
