The U.S. Department of State announced the selection of Beth Wiens, formerly of Council Grove, for a renewal of a 10-month fellowship project training teachers and teaching English in Israel at Hadassah Academic College, Jerusalem. Wiens is one of only 200 U.S. citizens selected for the 2023-2024 English Language Fellow Program.
Veterans of Comedy will seek to bring PG-rated laughter to our community as they take the stage at the Neosho River Amphitheater on Saturday, June 24. The gates will open at 5 p.m and the event begins at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 17, coincides with the final day of Washunga Days and is the inaugural launch of Flint Hills Artisan Fair, a juried fair that will offer something for everyone. It will be free (no wristband required) to attend and be a “must-do” experience. 35 vendors and their white tents will adorn Council Oak Park, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free parking is available at Council Grove Christian Church, which is next to the park.
