The Council Grove Republican has expressed a concern in articles about United States Postal Service plans for the Council Grove Post Office. We are grateful for those who have written a letter of support about keeping the Council Grove Post Office open and who have forwarded letters to us.
Last week the Chase County Commissioners received budget requests for next year. Among those requests was one from Sheriff Jacob Welsh. Welsh is requesting a total of $667,000 for 2024 when the amount budgeted for 2023 is $528,000.
