NEW ROTARY MEMBERS -- The Council Grove Rotary Club inducted three new members at their regular Wednesday meeting at the Hays House.
Debi Schwerdtfeger was re-elected for a new two-year term as Council Grove mayor Tuesday evening, while the Council Grove City Council will gain a new member and the USD 417 Board of Education will gain two new members.
The annual Candlelight Charm event is this weekend in downtown Council Grove and all are invited to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with an evening of shopping, carriage rides and more. A variety of local merchants will be open late and offering special sales, refreshments and giveaways. There will also be trolley tours on the Council Grove Trolley and carriage rides along Main Street. Special Candlelight Charm hours will be from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday.
