The independent study method for the Hunter Education Program is a three-part independent study method. It requires pre-registration in an internet-assisted Field Day and Testing Session, completion of the Kansas online hunter education course and active participation in an internet- assisted Hunter Education Field Day and Testing Session.

Girls of all ages are expected to converge on downtown Council Grove, 5-9 p.m., Friday for Girls Getaway, which is the annual shopping- and-dining-night-out-withgirls event. The theme this year is called “Wine and Wander in Council Grove,” which is sponsored by Destination: Council Grove and Twin Lakes Liquor.
Sixty-eight participants paddled the Up the Creek Kayak Challenge course on Saturday, July 15 – the 4th year for the kayaking event held on Council Grove Lake Reservoir.
