Debbie Sanford: 50 Years In Banking

Debbie Sanford says that in her early days in banking, a courier would deliver a bag of checks each day from the Federal Reserve Bank. Each check would then have to be inspected for date, amount, signature and endorsements and then sorted in alphabetical order and posted to individual ledger sheets. The checks would have to be canceled with a dated perforated stamp.
