The annual meeting of the Council Grove Area Trade & Tourism Association was held Friday at the Dealership Building. A guest appearance was made by Senator Jerry Moran. Keynote comments were made by Bridgette Jobe, Director of the Kansas Tourism Division of the Kansas Department of Commerce.

The Council Grove High School Braves basketball team hosted West Franklin Friday night but in the end, fell short 60-50 in varsity action.

CHASE COUNTY JH BOYS BB - Chase County Junior High Coach Andy Birchmeier said, “Our junior high boys team started the season very slow, however, lately we have been playing some great basketball against some really good opponents. We look forward to the second half of our season as we get a chance to play some teams for a second time.
