When the going gets tough, the tough get going. After last weekend’s storm dumped 9-12” of snow in the area, the annual Chase County Country Christmas was initially canceled, but later called as being postponed.
The Council Grove Public Library will host award winning author Mindy McGinnis Monday, December 4, at 7 p.m. This event will be at the Library, 829 West Main Street, and is co-sponsored by The Friends of the Library and Flint Hills Books.
Luke Richert, 38, Tulsa, OK, was driving south on Kansas 177 and struck a deer that entered from the west with his 2005 Toyota Tundra. He was wearing a seatbelt. Damage estimate and date of the accident was not reported by the Morris County Sheriff’s Office.
The Council Grove High School Lady Braves Basketball roster shows 12 ladies ready for Flint Hills League action. The Lady Braves graduated five seniors off of last season’s 5-16 team and will be looking to a young group of players this year to compete for a Flint Hills League Title. They will face the West Franklin Falcons in a home opener Friday night.
The Council Grove Junior High/ Senior High School Honor Roll for the first trimester has been released.
