USD 417 has announced the hiring of Sherri Terrell as the district’s special education coordinator. Terrell will replace Chris Stevens, who accepted a position in Junction City.
COUNCIL GROVE REGULATORS -- The Council Grove Regulators Wild West Show, based in the Flint Hills of Kansas, will be featured at the Gunfight on the Santa Fe Trail 2022. Regulators President Doc Hinck formed the group with his fiancé Stephanie Anderson and Regulator Robert Johnson in 2018. Their shows are family friendly with historical skits based on actual events that took place in the 1800s as well as comical skits that will leave you laughing your tail off. The Regulators present an authentic encampment at their shows and focus on bringing history and their own characters alive. The Gunfight on the Santa Fe Trail 2022 will be held on July 15 and 16 at Neosho Riverwalk Park.

The USD 417 Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday at the USD 417 District Office. On the agenda will be an information item regarding the budget timeline. Action items include election of USD 417 BOE vice-president, 2022-23 classified employee wage approval, notice of intent to exceed revenue neutral budget rate and a local option budget percentage resolution. There will also be an executive session for personnel.
