On March 7, we published our “Behind the Scenes at the Lake” segment and started discussing how operations in the Corps of Engineers has changed at the lake. Deputy OPM Gary Kepley wanted to provide a few corrections/clarifications to our published segment.
In a letter Monday to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, Deputy Secretary Wally Adeyemo and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner Daniel Werfel, 21 top financial officials from 18 states, including Kansas, said the costs of the IRS Direct File program “far outweigh any potential benefits” and will create new issues for taxpayers and states, alike. In May 2023, Yellen ordered the IRS to move forward with the first-of-its-kind program, which is funded by the Inflation Reduction Act.
As one chapter closes, another begins, and the Chase County Bulldogs baseball team are fortunate to have another exceptional group of seniors stepping into leadership roles. Three seniors who are already committed to playing college baseball and are confident in their abilities, are inspired to guide their teammates to reach new heights.
